Are appointments really necessary?

This is a question that I get asked a lot, whether appointments are really necessary.  The answer to this question is kind of not really an answer!  We do strongly suggest making an appointment for a couple of reasons.  First, it gives you the undivided attention that you deserve when you're trying on gowns.  And secondly, it allows you to book the fairy tale room where you'll be served refreshments and have a little bit of privacy.  We will do our best to never turn you away when you walk in to try on gowns for your big day, but you deserve the one on one attention and treatment.  We've tried to make it as easy as possible, by allowing you to email at info@onceuponatimeweddings, phone at 519-245-7997, or book an appointment online at our website http://www.onceuponatimeweddings.ca/.  Appointments can always be made during regular store hours, but if you require a later appointment or on a holiday you can book one.

Store Hours
Sunday 1-4
Monday-Thursday 9:30-6
Friday 9:30-8
Saturday 9:30-5

So remember, we'll do our best to accomodate walkins, but appreciate the quick heads up so we can better serve you!

Weddings...

So, this weekend, my husband Joel and I attended our first wedding of the season!  My friend from college, Jennifer Wagler, married her man, Rob Gurr in a beautiful ceremony in Ilderton.  We were so happy to attend and celebrate with them and their families.  I was reminded so many times throughout the day of why I love weddings and why I love doing what I do.  There is just something so beautiful about seeing two people who are so in love commit themselves and their lives to each other.  It's amazing to see two families come together and welcome someone new into their inner circle.  I love watching the groom's reaction as he sees his bride for the first time.  I love when a dad gives away his little girl, entrusting his new son in law to cherish and love her.  Yep, I love weddings!  And I love my job, because every time someone purchases their wedding gown from our store, or orders their wedding invitations, or when a mother chooses the gown she will wear on that special day, I am thankful that I get to be part of their fairy tale coming true.  I know what an important day it is for all involved and I'm excited to share that day with them in such a small way.

Here's a picture from the wedding, it's not a very clear one, and I'm excited to see the photographs from the photographer, Brenda Coghlin.  Did anyone else attend a wedding or wedding event this past weekend?  If so, feel free to tell us about it.  What's your favourite part of a wedding?

As always, you can find Once Upon A Time Weddings website at http://www.onceuponatimeweddings.ca/ or join our facebook fan page for pictures of new gowns arriving in the store and special promotions.

Love, True Love..

So, today is my husband and I's four year anniversary.. so I thought I would share a little about our wedding today on the blog.. I cannot believe it's been four years.

Joel and I met while attending Heritage Bible College and we started dating pretty soon after meeting each other.  We got engaged January 21st, 2006 and got married June 8, 2007 at Lamplighter Inn in London.

It was the perfect day - surrounded by people we love and people who love us.  Everything ran very smoothly and we celebrated the start of a new chapter.  It's been a crazy ride these last four years, but I can honestly say I love my husband more today than I did that day four years ago.  We know each other on a much deeper level and we work really well together!  I love you Joel.  I'm excited to see where the next four years takes us!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?
