The Four Cuts of Wedding Gowns..

Every wedding gown can be basically characterized one of four ways – princess, A-Line, fit and flare or empire.

Princess – A princess gown or ball gown as they are sometimes called, is a wedding gown will a full, big skirt.  This is your classic Cinderella gown.  This style suits a lot of different body types and is a fun, romantic style.  Avoid this style if you do not like your hips, as it will make your hips look bigger.

Empire – This style of wedding gown usually has beading or a band right underneath the bust area and then flows down from there.  This gown makes you look taller as it elongates your body.  This style is great for small busted women, as it will add volume to your bust.

A- Line – This style of gown usually has vertical seams that flow down to a A-shaped flared skirt.  This style is flattering on many different body types.  This style does create a slimmer waistline and flatters the bust.  This style does also flatter big hips.

Fit and Flare – This style of gown is covers mermaid and dropped waist gown.  (This can also be called sheath).  This style is tight fitting over your hip and closely follows the line of the body.  Mermaid style is tight to your knees and dropped waist is tight over your hips.  This dress does make your legs shorter.
